I know this is probably too little, too late, but I want to apologize to my family members and friends who were appalled and hurt by my insensitivity. I’m sorry I didn’t take your feelings into consideration, and spoke so disrespectfully to you about things you considered sacred. While I don’t believe we shouldn’t speak openly and candidly about things that concern or trouble us, our speech should “always be gracious and interesting, so that [we] will know how to respond to any particular individual” (Colossians 4:6, CJB). I stepped over the line on many occasions, and I want to take this opportunity to tell you I’m truly sorry for the times I was obnoxious, sarcastic, and cavalier in my words and actions….
